Day 1 Artist - Art Coven "Curating creativity and connection in Canmore”

Art Coven is a community art club bringing young adults together for creativity and connection. Art Coven hosts monthly art night's with a different art activity each time. Hannah Antonsen started Art Coven in 2019 to build a safe, loving and supportive environment for folx to meet, have fun and socialize while doing creative practice. A space to help inspire each other artistically and beyond, channel some divine feminine energy (which is accessible for all genders), and empower ourselves as freaking rad humans!

Our market stall features work by six queer artists and creatives from our local community. Find jewelry, tufted rugs, crochet, wild-foraged botanical potions, screenprinting and more! Come by and meet us and see what some of our talented community members make!

Day 2 Artist - Sarah Frost (She/Her) "ARTIST || NATURE AND NERDERY”

Saturday September 23rd - 10:00am - 6:00pm

“I was born in Suffolk, UK and am fortunate to have lived, worked and played across the globe as a chef, ski coach, and artist, before settling to call Banff my home in the fall of 2019. The themes of my works are deeply influenced by the natural world and my love of popular culture. Nature and Nerdery. With an academic background in the sciences and far too many hours spent gaming and absorbing film and TV, I have expressed my perspective of the world through my artwork.
I have developed styles to play with vibrant watercolours, seemly haphazardly blown, splashed and flicked across the page, but truly with intent, and confined by carefully designed stencils. I often highlight with metallics, or block colours and shades, in acrylics to add texture and contrast to the subject of my works. I’ve applied this style with numerous fan art paintings as well as geologic and geographical subject matters.
When focussing on more natural content, I love to revel in fine details, pursuing the concept of realism presented in a stylized minimalist manner. Studying from science textbooks throughout my education I have always been fascinated with the intricacies of natural science illustration and it’s use to communicate information about the natural world. This has heavily influenced my exploration into precise ink drawings and paintings of animals and natural objects. I take my time to build the image of the animals with a fine tip ink pen and finish by layering watercolour washes, bringing the subject to life!”

Day 3 Artist - Randi & Dori (She/Her) "Located on Treaty 7 land, owned and operated by indigenous women”

Sunday September 24th - 10:00am - 6:00pm

“As indigenous women we feel the struggle of not seeing true, indigenous owned, artistry companies. Little Star Artistry was born to build a bridge between the indigenous community and non-indigenous communities by decolonizing fashion and creating art that is appropriate for ANYONE to wear and own, with prices that every budget can afford.
Aside from our collection of items for ANYONE, we also create items specifically for ONLY OUR community as well; Medicine bundles (by trade only), regalia, drums, and other items specific to our community. If you are indigenous and looking for items specific to our community please email us or message us on our instagram. Contact info can be found on the "Contact Us" tab.
Little Star Artistry is a safe space for our LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities. We also actively support movements such as Every Child Matters, Missing & Murdered Indigenous Peoples, BLM, and other positive social movements.”
