What to Expect:
Come to climb & connect with the queer & trans community at the Canmore Climbing Gym. This is a monthly drop-in style event and attendees are able to come anytime between 6 PM to 9 PM. If you’re a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at any climbing level, come join us! This event is open to all ages. Allies are welcome.
The event will be hosted by queer and trans climbers/staff members of CCG, as well as volunteers from Canmore Pride.
For the November 30th edition of the event, we will be offering a free, optional “Intro to Bouldering” course from 6-7:30 PM, led by Sage. The course will cover foundational bouldering skills for beginner-level climbers with topics including footwork, body positioning, and hold types. Come learn how to boulder in a positive, supportive environment. Registration is required for this course—see the link under “registration” below.
About Sage: Sage is a trans and lesbian climber who grew up climbing in the Bow Valley. With 8 years of experience coaching athletes of all abilities ranging from beginner to high performance, Sage is excited to share her love of movement with other queer and trans climbers.
For those who do not want to join the course, you are welcome to drop-in to climb from 6-9 PM and no registration is required.

Please wear comfortable clothing that you can be active in.
Bring your own climbing shoes/chalk if you wish. (Note: free climbing shoe rentals are available - please see the above).
Water bottle/snacks.

Accessibility:
Two private gender-neutral washrooms are available on-site.
Please note, due to the environment in the climbing gym, there may be chalk dust in the air.
Music will be played via the in-house sound system.
If you would like to join the event and do not want to climb, it is free to come and hang out! There are several couches and seating areas available.
Accessibility Note: While bouldering can pose unique accessibility challenges, the gym is committed to making this event as inclusive as possible. Currently, accommodations for adaptive climbing are limited, but we warmly welcome participants who may wish to attend and hang out rather than climb. The gym is exploring ways to support accessibility further, and we encourage anyone interested to reach out so we can discuss your needs and ensure a welcoming environment for all.
CCG is dog-friendly.
