Time: 6 PM - 7:45 PM (Please be at the skating rink by 6 PM as we will be departing shortly after that.)

Who is this event for?
This is open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies in the Bow Valley ages 16+. This event is FREE.

What to expect:
6PM Meet at the Cougar Creek Skating Rink parking lot in Canmore. We will head north up the creek and onto the Horseshoe trail to a lookout and back.
Hike and Howl will provide an environment for participants to:
Be in the mountains.
Release some tension with a group howl.
Build connections with others who share similar experiences and identities.

4 km round trip
80 m of elevation gain
80 min of hiking
No registration is required.

What to bring: Bring layers, good footwear, traction devices (e.g., yak trax, microspikes), poles and a headlamp. You may also bring your own snacks and warm beverages!

Accessibility:
Will require the ability to navigate roots / rocks and some uphill. Pace will set so no one is left behind.
Portable washroom on site. Washroom across the bridge, 300m away from the skating rink.

Getting here:
There is free parking at the skating rink.
Closest bus stop is: Benchlands Trail at Elk Run (Roam Transit, Route 5C - Cougar Creek). It is 210 m from the skating rink.
FREE ROAM PASSES AVAILABLE FOR BANFF RESIDENTS. We are able to provide free bus passes for folks travelling between Banff and Canmore for this event. Each pass is valid for one way travel on the Canmore – Banff Regional Route 3 with Roam Transit. (Limit 2 passes per person). Please email community@canmorepride.ca to get a pass.
