What to expect:
Join us for "Cooking Together: Sharing Culture through Food," an event that brings the spirit of the Canmore Pride Festival into the kitchen. Participants will dive into the heart of Filipino cuisine by preparing Tortang Talong, a beloved Filipino eggplant omelette. Tortang Talong is a comfort dish found in nearly every Filipino household, known for its versatility and simplicity. Each family often puts their own spin on this dish, making it a true reflection of personal and cultural expression.
Guided by Jodi Gammad and Co+Kitchen instructor Yuka, participants will collaborate in preparing this flavorful dish, beginning with an introduction to its cultural significance. This event is more than just a cooking class—it's an opportunity to build inclusive environments and celebrate the diversity within our community. As we cook and dine together, we'll share stories, foster open dialogue, and strengthen the bonds that make Canmore Pride a celebration of love, culture, and belonging.
Doors will open at 5 PM and the event will begin promptly at 5:30 PM.
