Tech Safety Tips for 2SLGBTQIA+ Folks

Who is this event for?
This event is open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies in the Bow Valley ages 16+. This event is FREE.

What to expect:
A peer-led session on topics such as tech privacy and safety best practices that includes opportunities for peer tip sharing and hands-on exercises to further secure your accounts.
No registration is required.

What to bring:
Bring your phone and/or laptop, and optionally, any charge cords.
The Canmore Public Library provides all visitors to the library with access to free internet and Wi-Fi. Library membership is not required.

Accessibility:
There is a ramp into Elevation Place.
The main doors into Elevation Place open automatically. The doors into the library have a push button. The glass door into the meeting room is on a slider.
This event is held indoors with ample lighting.
The meeting room includes tables, chairs, flip chart and monitor. Room capacity is 25 people.
Washrooms: There is a universal change room located on the main floor at EP at the very end of the corridor to the swimming change rooms. The universal change room contains some single stall toilets and shared sinks. Gendered washrooms are available on the main floor before the reception desk, in the swimming change rooms and on the second floor which is serviced with an elevator and stairs.

Getting here:
Free parking is available at the Elevation Place parking lot. However, we encourage you to walk/bike/roll to the venue if it is accessible for you.
There are also accessible parking stalls at Elevation Place.
Closest bus stop is: Closest bus stop is: Elevation Place North. It is 64 m away from the entrance.
FREE ROAM PASSES AVAILABLE FOR BANFF RESIDENTS. We are able to provide free bus passes for folks travelling between Banff and Canmore for this event. Each pass is valid for one way travel on the Canmore – Banff Regional Route 3 with Roam Transit. (Limit 2 passes per person). Please email community@canmorepride.ca to get a pass.
